Wearing a protective mask prevents the spread of bacteria from one person to another, or prevents individuals from inhaling particles in the air. They have a pleated front design with cloth ear buckles or a tie, or a contoured cup design, and usually have an adjustable nose bridge and a strap that holds the mask in place. They are used in medical and industrial applications to prevent spray, vapor and particulate matter from covering the nose and nose.
People should not share masks. They are single-use items, and if breathing is difficult or the mask is soiled, it should be safely discarded and replaced with a new one.
